Opened in early 2013, Walgreens is another successful development project on the Brian Olson Commercial dossier. An 18-month planning process ended with a winning vote for Olson after a different development team unsuccessfully tried to earn approval for a Walgreens store at the intersection in 2005. City Council’s approval was contingent on eight conditions, including additional landscaping to mitigate visual impacts. Steamboat developer Brian Olson said he’ll be able to meet the conditions.



Trailside Village


A residential development that will add 200 market-rate condominiums and 30 affordable condos to the U.S. Highway 40 corridor is working its way through the city planning process.


Trailside Village is planned to be built on 7.5 acres immediately west of the Staples office supply store between downtown Steamboat Springs and the Steamboat Ski Area.
